I remember having my World of Warcraft account hacked, all my stuff sold off and the money from that mailed to whomever, then all the characters I’d spent years playing deleted (I had dozens across multiple servers; bit of an “alt-whore” as players called my type). Yeah, I had myself a right huge panic attack losing everything I’d invested years of my life into. “Felt like the world ended?” I can relate.
“As a kid”? Oh.
Well, uh… no. More of a grown man in his early 30s. (Oh, I feel the judgement now… nyeh! 😛 )
(WoW support staff got it all back for me in a couple weeks, but at the time I didn’t even know if they could do that.)
I was going to comment on how Dacey saved the game from shorting out thus not only saving Summ’s progress (up to the point where she last left off) but saved Fred from having to but a new game. But after the last panel, never mind.
And this is why Fred didn’t buy her a Nintendo Switch.
Poor Summer. I can remember losing all my game progress as a kid, felt like the world had ended.
On the bright side, Dacey seem more worried than angry. She’s becoming more of a mother each week.
Unless her thought process is more like, “if someone’s gonna kill them, it’s gonna be me!”… But she wouldn’t think that. Maybe.

It wouldn’t be parenting without well-meaning protection against what turns out to be exaggerated danger
Wonder how Darcy would have felt if she found it that it was something that Summers parents had given her.
