I think the other thermometer has to be inserted into the ‘lower back side’, like the older models that are used on Babies. So, I agree with Summer when she wants to go to school, even when she is sick.
Pretty much. In the script, Fred referred to it as an “old fashioned thermometer” but I changed the line in the final comic. Perhaps the original version would’ve been clearer.
An “old-fashioned thermometer” isn’t necessarily a rectal one. We had two glass thermometers in our house, and we put them under our tongue. They looked just like the one used by Elliot in ET.
We had the glass thermometeters too, but i kinda had the bite/chew reflex issue when groggy (mostly it mean i could have a sucker candy with out accidently bite throw it before i was ready, but the worse incident once when I got up to to get a glass of water in the middle night, and bit though the glass while i was drinking, so Mom always used the arm pit trick on me
Pretty sure she really is sick, Fred. Did you read the last comic? You went Exorcist all over her head!
He did. Though I’m not sure he was even aware she was present.
I only have one thermometer, it’s the kind that you stick in the ear. Much less invasive. 🙂
Oh, wait. There is that meat thermometer, but then I would have to puncture my daughter…:0
That’s probably not advisable. But then, what do I know…
I think most digital thermometers can be used under the armpit also? So I think she is safe? I am not a doctor, but I think they can.
unless… the reasons she doesn’t want her temperature taken is because the other is one of the annoying musical thermometers?

I get the joke, why I suggested the armpit XD
