Yet another example of why time-outs don’t work.

Time-outs especially Cornertime variant does work, in the cases where the misbehaviour is a result of child lost control of the emotions (as opposed to Deliberate misbehavior) or a lead up to a more serious punishment like a spanking so the guardian contemplates whether it was deliberate misbehaviour or just the guardian being angry.
Of course breaking cournertime without permission is it self deliberate misbehaviour
Either that, or she found it forgotten in the basement storage.
You don’t see Cathode Ray Tube (“CRT”) TVs much anymore. Most of the big companies stopped making them in the early 2000s (at least in North America; I’m told they’re still for sale in 2nd and 3rd world countries).

That could be it, I suppose. But I wouldn’t put it past her to have gotten in trouble several times already since then!

Look, backgrounds are hard!!!
And boring!
I’ve seen other comic artists use background signage and pictures creatively to delighted effect. Jennie Breeden of The Devils Panties is probably the best example.
Another option is to cut&paste real art or other images and shrink them into the frame. This is vastly easier than drawing a dozen little pictures in frames every comic.
With either option, the thing is to abandon any perceived need to match the pictures up exactly, comic to comic. There’s no value in doing so, and trying to would be both annoying and counterproductive to the creative fun you could have with it.
Oh! Actually, you know what could be creative, funny, and NOT something I’ve really seen anyone else do with their comic backgrounds? (So who would accuse you of hacking someone else’s bit?) Popular internet memes.

That’s funny! Interesting idea and I can see it working in a webcomic. I don’t think it’s a good “fit” for Twice the Triplets specifically but someone should definitely do this in a comic. 🙂
